Illuminated

August Adams is a treasure hunter of sorts. He hunts down rare books for money, and has done so at the expense of his family. April, his ex-wife, works at the Library of Congress and protects one of the rarest books in history, the Gutenberg Bible. On the flight home from collecting one of the few Gutenberg's, August finds himself inbetween two secret societies that want what is found in the Gutenberg bibles, a secret hidden in the 9 illuminations that are dispersed in the few bibles that were printed.

In the book,
Illuminated by Matt Bronleewe, we watch as August, April, and their son Charlie become intangled in a war between two organizations that have been at odds ever since Gutenberg was alive. August must decipher the illuminations or his wife and child will die, and being trapped on a plane, he has no other option.

This was a book that really held my attention (always a tough feet for someone who has diagnosed themselves as ADD!). I must admit at times it went a little over my head, but not too much as to lose me. It was fast paced and developed the characters in a way that I cared about them and how they ended up.

I give it 4 out of 5.
